Counting to 100

About this skill
Kindergarten counting grows in stages: counting objects, reading numbers, counting by tens, and finally counting all the way to 100. These worksheets follow that path — counting dots and objects, ten frames, counting on and back, one more and one less, filling in the hundred chart, and putting numbers in order. Short, focused pages let children practice one move at a time and build the number sense every later math skill stands on.
Teaching notes
- Start concrete: count real objects and ten frames before asking for numbers on a page, and touch each object as it is counted.
- Watch the decade bridges — 29 to 30, 39 to 40. Children who breeze through the twenties often stall exactly where the tens change.
- Extend with hundred-chart puzzles: cover a few numbers and ask what is missing, or count a jar of beans by tens together.
