What's inside
- 1. Choose a topic you know about and write it on the line. Your topic should be something you can teach others about in one paragraph.
- 2. Write a topic sentence that tells the main idea of your paragraph. Remember, a topic sentence introduces what your whole paragraph will be about.
- 3. Write three facts about your topic. Make sure each fact teaches the reader something new and stays on topic.
- 4. Look at your three facts. Do they all connect to your topic sentence? Cross out any fact that does not belong and write a new one that fits better.
- 5. Write a concluding statement that wraps up your paragraph. Your concluding statement should remind the reader what your paragraph was about or tell why your topic matters.
- 6. Now put your sentences in order. Write your topic sentence first, then your three facts, and finally your concluding statement. Leave space between sentences so you can add linking words next.
