1. Think of something you know a lot about. It could be an animal, a food, a place, or a game. Write the name of your topic.
2. Draw a quick picture of your topic in the space below. Add details you can see or remember.
3. Think of three facts about your topic. A fact is something that is true. Write three facts as short phrases or words.
4. Look at your facts. Circle or put a star next to the two facts you want to teach someone.
5. Write one sentence that tells your reader what your topic is. Start with the words MY TOPIC IS or I WANT TO TEACH YOU ABOUT.
6. Now write a sentence that tells your first fact. Use your topic word in the sentence.
